For a hackintosh users it's always good to update your clover to latest version to make a successful update of every OS X from appstore. Many people make mistake while upgrading the clover. Here is how you can update your clover to latest version. Open Terminal and Type nvram -c and Hit Enter and close the Terminal. Mount EFI with EFI Mounter or Clover Configurator And GOTO EFI and copy folder to Desktop for backup. Now, Download the clover form Sorceforge (Official) (Clover V4411 while writing this article) once download is completed extract the Archive by double click and open Clover.pkgp and clover may get blocked due to unidentified developer Clover_v2.4k_r4411.pkg” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer. , Goto System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Open Anyway button in clover Continue Accepting Terms and Conditions. In the installation and click on customize instead of default installation and make sure following items are checked.
  1. Install for UEFI booting only
  2. Install Clover in the ESP
  3. Drivers64UEFI
  4. Install RC scipts on target volume
  5. Install Clover Preference Pane
Click next and Authenticate password :
Clover_upgrade.pngclover_auth.pngdownload.png
Once, Complete Goto /EFI/EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI then only put the files what you need, Check the old /EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI Folder. I put only these files and delete other files. [Depends on your laptop] For safety, you can use the .efi present in your previous version clover.
  1. AptioMemoryFix.efi
  2. HFSPlus.efi
Once, everything is done, clear the clover setting profile, open Terminal and enter the following command.
Terminal:
sudo nvram -c

I'm not able to use any version after Clover_v2.4k_r4700. When I install an update past that, MacOS will not load. Anyone else have this problem, and if so, is there a fix?

You can try an alternative method, which is basically copying the EFI file from USB EFI to an HDD EFI.

I've tried that, MacOS hangs on progress bar with any Clover past 4700. It works on 4700, so I don't need to update, but it's strange that I can't

you should boot in verbose mode by adding -v in boot args, which will display a text message on screen what's happening and why you are stuck. Read FAQ
